I'm only on page 108 out of 870, but I can already tell you HP and the OotP is awesome! I've even laughed out loud a few times. Some parts I found particularly amusing...

"Hang on. This Lord Voldything's back, you say."
"Yes."
"The one who murdered your parents."
"Yes."
"And now he's sending dismembers after you."
"Looks like it," said Harry.

"Who saved the Sorcerer's Stone? Who got rid of Riddle? Who saved both your skins from the Dementors?... Who had to get past dragons and sphinxes and every other foul thing last year? Who saw Him come back? Who had to escape from Him? Me!"

I talked to my dad earlier, and I told him I was reading the new HP book. All he could say was "Parry Hotter!" If you ever mention HP around my dad, he will call me Parry Hotter (my last name is Parry for those of you who don't know... but I suppose I shouldn't put that sort of info on the www... oh, well). I find it amusing, anyway. But as much as I love Harry, certain people seem to think it's "gay." Rather than having to tell the whole story, I'll just post part of the conversation I had with Devon.

HeyNowGirl4: but ya know what, about 15 UC teachers met up and saw lotr at midnight when it opened
HeyNowGirl4: so i asked him about that
SevenNchik: ewwwwwwww bastard
SevenNchik: mmhmm...
HeyNowGirl4: and he goes "well... lotr is about good vs. evil"
SevenNchik: so is HP!
HeyNowGirl4: and he said harry potter appealed more to kids
HeyNowGirl4: and i was like "you're tellin me kids dont watch lotr?!"
HeyNowGirl4: and i got him to shut up. i was so proud
SevenNchik: hells yeah
HeyNowGirl4: rob bramlet was the only guy on my side
HeyNowGirl4: we were the only 2 who had even seen harry potter
HeyNowGirl4: so we knew how much it rocked :-)
SevenNchik: are you kidding me?!
HeyNowGirl4: stupid huh?
SevenNchik: holy shit, if i still went to UC we would've kicked their arses

That got me thinking about Ron and Hermione. I hope they end up together. Harry and Ginny, too. I'll just have to wait and see. And I really really really can't wait to find out who dies. Ohh, I want to finish this book so badly, but at the same time I never want it to end. ::sigh:: Isn't that how it is with all good things?
